(Message from Dad, I'm trying to get this up to date....having 7 other kiddos at home is a full load and something always needs to get done, but I want to be sure you are all aware of Dallin's latest adventures....So I'm going back to my last update and adding all letters between now and then and some pictures...still unedited...enjoy!)
pday was boring....there isnt anything to do here so i just chilled in my hammock again. To be honest, right now in curuguaty Pday is my least favorite day of the week. I can't work, i cant enjoy my time and destress because there isnt anything to do and it is hot.....it was just kind of a bleh day for me, until we got to go visit the Ovelar family for a FHE :)while we were there we got to visit for a little bit and enjoy a good lesson :) but my favorite part was when Elder souza shared the following qoute
"No diga a Dios cuán grande es to desafió. Diga al desafió cuán grande es tu Dios"
translated "dont tell God how big your trial is. tell your trial how big your God is"
tuesday was Cambios.....the entire mornign was really stressful, watching th phone and waiting for it to ring, but at the same time not wanting it to because that phone call will change the next 6 weeks of the mission! but after a long mornign the call finally came. i found out that a guy from my group is coming up to the santani zone with me! so that is cool :) and then i found out that Edler souza gets to stay here in curuguaty and he is the new district leader! as soon as i heard that i knew i was leaving....so i waited to hear my new area when i heard the Elder beus(our old district leader) "Y elder DuFort....te quedas!" which means that i am with elder souza for the next 6 weeeks here in curuguaty again :) so that was a relief and i am really excited :)
wednesday was somewhat dull, apart from the fact that we finally found one of the original church members here! she is pretty old, and i think a little crazy(the heat here can do that) but she had some interesting stories haha :)
during the closing prayer at the end of the day i made a pretty funny mistake. we had received a reference that day and i had written her name down in my planner and when i said it in the prayer i just quickly glanced at it and said " gracias por la refencia de ramera" instead of "Ramana" which is something other than the name for sure haha XD but its good that God understood what a tired missionary meant :)
the only other highlight i have is sunday we had a district conference(stake conference, but for areas that have branches instead of wards) and it was really good! the talks were eaither super well done, or really funny, or spiritual :) the only hard part was when people would start talking in guarani haha ;) but it was a good conference and my main quotes that i loved were
(translated) "what has the quickest expiration date? Prayer!" and " are we convinced, or converted to the Gospel?" and then i also liked the scripture D&C 84:88 and psalms 127:3 :) we also had 3 investigators in the chapel there! it was super nice and a good destresser :) the drive was 2 hours, and watching the paraguayan countryside go by was one of the most beatiful things i have ever seen!
that was basically my week, i love you all!
